A child’s first step into pre-school is also a first step to independence, at Village Nurseries our goal is to encourage that independence through educational activities that are fun and stimulating. It’s a big exciting world out there, and we want children to leave for their next steps in life equipped for the journey.

In order to build happy and trusting relationships with our parents and support children feeling safe and valued, we provide all children with a keyperson. This member of our pre-school staff will develop a genuine bond with the children in making them feel happy and settled, and will support them in their developmental progress.

The key person will be in the best position to understand your child’s individual needs and to share information with you about your child’s experiences at pre-school. They will observe your child on a regular basis and as a result of these observations’ will plan future opportunities and experiences that best meet their needs and interests.

New Experiences

Each day our pre-schools are setup in different ways, with a varied range of activities that encourage children to try new experiences and reach beyond their comfort zone.

Before your child starts at Village Nurseries, a meeting between parents and the key person takes place so that the child’s unique and particular needs are understood, and planned for appropriately. The dialogue between the parents and key person continues the entire time the child is at pre-school and is hugely valuable for both parties, creating a triangle of care and trust between the child, parent and key person.

Activities

All our pre-schools provide a broad range of age appropriate and stimulating activities where children have the opportunities to develop physically, socially and intellectually. We offer a rich and varied play environment which supports children’s learning and development, builds confidence and encourages independence as well as providing challenging indoor and outdoor spaces for children to explore.

We recognise that each child is unique with his or her interests, abilities and developing view of the world and respect the many forms of family life that children will experience as well as their social and cultural backgrounds.
